As day two of the International Veins Meeting in London drew to a close, the awards ceremony took centre stage for the first time in The College of Phlebology’s conference history.
Here, venous experts from all over the world were recognised for their research into treating endovenous conditions, as well as for their dedication towards the industry through improving patient care and reducing the recurrence rates of venous conditions on a global scale.
A dinner took place from 7pm in the State Rooms, followed by the much-anticipated awards announcement, which was hosted by International venous expert, Professor Mark Whiteley.
First prize winners from the night included:
Best Presentation Leg Veins – Dr Evi Kalodiki
Best Presentation Leg Ulcers – Dr Kathleen Finlayson
Best Presentation Pelvic Veins – Dr Saurabh Joshi
Best e-Poster Presentation – Subbarao Kanchus Tambam
Best Rockaoke Singer (Joke Category!) – Dr Luis Rene Arias Villarroel
Professor Whiteley congratulated all of the winners and commented on the evenings celebrations, stating: “It was truly fantastic being able to congratulate all of our winners from tonight. There were some outstanding presentations throughout the conference, and it’s been wonderful to recognise some of the sheer talent we have in the industry, through this evenings ceremony.”
A great night to be had by all, which led onto the third and final day of the conference!
